What will I learn in this workshop ?
In this workshop you will learn all of the basic filigree techniques and will use these techniques to create a lovely filigree pendant. You will learn how to prepare fine silver filigree wires and form them into lacey filigree shapes. You will then learn how to create sterling silver frames and how to solder the lacey filigree wire into the frames to create beautiful filigree jewellery.

What tools will I need ?

- Flex Shaft with a #30 Hand Piece
- Torch / Soldering Area with good ventilation
- Rolling Mill (See notes on participating without a rolling mill)

I don’t own a rolling mill, what should I do ?
A number of filigree materials need to be rolled.
If you do not own a rolling mill, you have a couple of options:

- Pre roll your silver and make your filigree wire in advance of the workshop
- Purchase a material kit which contains all of the pre-rolled silver and filigree wire

What is an interactive online workshop and how can I benefit the most from this ?
The workshop is live and online on zoom, with Milt broadcasting from his studio in Canada
Cameras are set up at the bench pin, the soldering station and other points around the studio as required
This is not a prerecorded workshop The workshop is live and all of the demos are live
This means you can interact with the instructor and ask questions during the demos
After each demo, you will be given time to practice the demo. During this time Milt will watch you work and will provide you with feedback on your technique and help you resolve any issues you may be experiencing.
Students will set up their cellphones or other cameras so that instructor can observe students while they work and provide students with feedback in real time. During the workshop, students may also email photographs of their work in progress. Instructor will provide timely feedback.

How does the instructor watch me work during the workshop ?
In order to have an interactive workshop with the feel of an in person workshop, the instructor needs a way to watch students work. Students will set up and log into zoom with a second device ie cellphone or other camera, so that instructor can observe students while they work and provide students with feedback in real time.
If you prefer not to set up a second device, you may also email photographs of your work in progress. The Instructor will provide you with timely feedback.

Will the workshop be recorded ?
Yes. The entire workshop will be recorded and recordings will be available for your unlimited viewing for 30 days
why are prices in canadian dollars ?
I am a Canadian based instructor. My Point of Sale provider "Square" only allows home country currency sales.
You may purchase the workshop and material kit with credit cards issued in almost any country and the credit card company will convert the Canadian dollar sale to your credit card currency. For example if you purchase the material kit with a USA credit card, your credit card company will convert the $80 CAD fee to $USA at the prevailing exchange rate. At current exchange rates you will be charged about $60 USA

Payment is full is required at the time of registration
You may cancel with full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of the workshop

For those who have no filigree experience, but have some jewellery making experience and have experience soldering with a jewellery torch
